PRESS RELEASE简介

We are in the process of creating a multi disciplinary large-scale still-life photograph inspired by and based on the Dutch golden age bouquet paintings. The aim of the project is to create a trompe l’oeil photograph that, from a distance, looks like a modern take on a classical bouquet. However the close up will reveal that each flower is a women wearing a dress.

To do so we are in the process of creating a collection of garments where each garment gives the illusion of a painted or drawn floral. We are aiming to create glass masks to optimise the effect of the illusion. We will build a set and stage that will be large enough to create a flower arrangement of 12 to 15 models. They will be placed in front of the black background to create a canvas in which the dark base of the clothing will disappear. This will create the illusion where the florals and the faces form the bouquet.

We use our fashion and textiles background as a medium to create a painting and an alternate world. By combining our skills with the skills of the talented still-life photographer Louise te Poele we would like to move away from the traditional view of fashion. We want to create a platform in which the clothing is a bridge between fine art and design and where it is the medium that draws up the image.

As it were our way of painting.
